After six years with Mine Co. I have discovered that although people loved my designs for kids in the showroom, they mostly wanted it customized to their requirements, leaving the furniture there as display nothing more!
I thought I needed a design company or office, not a showroom, I also noticed that parents and young adults wanted the same feelings these designs gave their kids but for themselves!
More than once a mom enters the shop and looks at a fairy tale bedroom I have designed and sigh:" I wish I could be a kid again!"
Or a dad testing-just testing- the formula one car bed, trying to persuade his 3 year old kid that this is his dream bed! With the mom giving me a sideway glance laughing:" we all know who will end up sleeping in this bed!" :)
That and with the birth of my baby boy, I thought I want to take things more slowly, wanted to actually take a break but my clients kept on calling, which gave me the confidence that I can do this even from home.
I wanted to balance home and work, wanted to enjoy my baby, play with my kids, and still do what I loved most, bringing joy to others using my creativity, feeling like a kid my self and seeing kids jump from joy saying the one word I love the most:"WOW!"
I was greatful that technology brought the world to my doorsteps. I did the research, used a focus group and from my experience with my clients found out that everyone young or old wanted to belong, to feel they have a place that reflects them, that once designed right a personal space can be thereputic, it can motivate you, relax you, inspire you, it can make a child feel loved, aspire to reaching his goals, it can make a teen express her self, find solace.
That became my goal, the company's goal, to reflect the client's personality in their spaces, with a playfulness that brings out their inner child, or give them the new sense of self and outlook youth have.
I wanted to concentrate on quality more than quantity, to give my client my undivided attention, pour my creativity and ideas in each project before moving to another.
So I started my one woman company :)
My brother helped me find the name, you always know it's the right name when it gives you a big smile all day long, when it feels right, when it reflects you and what you believe in.
